Good Morning Ball Arena

Day breaks on May 22nd, just days after the Nuggets were eliminated in game seven of the NBA divisional round. With heavy heads and the future unclear for the Nuggets faithful, we know one thing for sure: David Adelman will be the new head coach for the Denver Nuggets.

Adelman started his career as a coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves in player development under his father, Rick. In 2016, Adelman made the transition to the Orlando Magic working under legendary Frank Vogel. This stint lasted one season before the front office of the Nuggets brought him in to become the assistant to Michael Malone.

Now, everyone knows that Malone brought a championship to Denver in 2023, however, many might not know it was Adelman who had a close relationship with many of the players and the front office. If you understand the dynamic between Adelman and the team, you would pick up on the greatness of this man. Most of the offensive plays and defensive schemes implemented during the 22’-23’ season were that of Adelman.

When Malone was fired late in the 2025 season, Adelman stepped up and coached the Nuggets to wins in their final three games to secure the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

There are many accolades that pertain to Adelman’s life; the track record of a winner is prominent. From player state champion to PIL coach of the year three times, assistant coach in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game, and an NBA championship under his tenure. I think it is safe to assume the Nuggets are in good hands for years to come.
